We played our alphorns at a "Neighbor Appreciation" dinner put on by the Burgdorf Ward. About 24 people were there. This was the dessert table, and it was all done by one woman. And, sadly, we had to leave to catch our train before dessert time.
Yummy. Looks almost too good to eat. I am amazed that you were able to get Steve to leave before sampling the goods! Next time suggest eating dessert first!
We are so excited to be able to serve a mission in the Bern, Switzerland, Institute Outreach Center. We have been dreaming of serving a mission almost since we were baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the Mormons) in 1970. But first we had to raise eight children and send six of them on missions of their own. On a visit to Switzerland several years ago, we learned of the opportunity to serve at the Outreach Center, and Sue thought that would be a dream come true. In Fall, 2008, after attending the Alphorn Workshop in Schönried, we met the Grassli's (the then-current Outreach couple) at the Interlaken Branch. They asked if we could replace them in November, 2009, and Sue thought, "Let's give it a try!" Now, after many prayers and even more miracles, we are on our way.
