Before we could happily go on our mission, we needed someone to stay in our house. Fortunately, Robert was able to get a job with Walgreen's here in Brentwood. We feel so blessed that he was willing and able to bring his family to our house.
Here is Steve's letter from the Prophet. Sue got one just like it, only with her name at the top. Sue started the on-line application process about four months before the letters arrived.
We are so excited to be able to serve a mission in the Bern, Switzerland, Institute Outreach Center. We have been dreaming of serving a mission almost since we were baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the Mormons) in 1970. But first we had to raise eight children and send six of them on missions of their own. On a visit to Switzerland several years ago, we learned of the opportunity to serve at the Outreach Center, and Sue thought that would be a dream come true. In Fall, 2008, after attending the Alphorn Workshop in Schönried, we met the Grassli's (the then-current Outreach couple) at the Interlaken Branch. They asked if we could replace them in November, 2009, and Sue thought, "Let's give it a try!" Now, after many prayers and even more miracles, we are on our way.
